just be careful if grinding away parts of the control arm, large chunks cut away create stress concentrations and can cause the area to crack or shear from stress in the control arms. A few mm won't hurt it but if you go and cut half the control arm away well then its not going to be that...

you get what you pay for mate, they are an amazing tyre.

probably plenty of things to do if you look around (sweep, dust, organise, face up shelves, chase up overdue credits ect) I don't know what you do though so I just made a general list.

if your worried about the MT/AT issue you could look at Goodyear Duratrac's bit expensive but they are an awesome tyre that is about as aggressive all terrain as you will find plus I think they make them in the size you want.

I got quoted $370 for 265/75r16 MTZ's at arb so probably a little less than that at tyre shops, be prepared to pay more for the KM2 though.

should get 50-60k out of them, by all accounts they are one of the best muddies for onroad manners, MTZ's being the other one.

Timing chains break or need replacing a lot. people who own D40's will tell you otherwise but we usually get 1 or more per week posting about the crap timing chains. if you can't hear any noises at the front of the engine that would indicate it needs replacing then it should be ok I guess...

standard size for the STR was 255/70r16 before the S2 update in 04 which changed it to 265/70r16. standard size for the DX has always been 205r16, think its about 738mm diameter, whatever tyres hilux SR's run its the same one as the DX navara.

just be careful, you tend to break CV's with to much wheel spin when one tyre is in the air then slams down and gains traction.

if it was a 2.5 I'd be telling you to grab it, much safer then the pressure chips however being a ZD30 the only thing you can really do is open the spill valve longer which all the chips do. Up to you but by all accounts they make a huge difference especially to a ZD30 with better exhaust.
