On the back of the tow truck again.....

Not likely....I'll probably go into anaphylaxis if not from the marque then definitely from the asking price :haha:

is it normal that the d40 runs at such pressure.

You've lost me - I simply don't understand why you would do what you did or the need for ever having to do so. Radiator systems have been closed systems on all vehicles for more than 20 years that I can recall and even in the old days when the vented via a overflow hose to the ground they were...

    driving style

Tony - seems that some folks improve fuel consumption in an automatic by drivig it in manual mode. Would be interesting to see if this approach works with the D40 http://www.fuelly.com/tip/571/Shifting-Automatic-Transmissions-manually

    Keeping track of fuel consumption

Just wondering if anyone else on this forum uses fuely.com to keep track of their fuel consumption. I've been doing this for quite a while now and if anyone is interested they can have a look at my diesel guzzling D40 at the link below...

    Timing chain issues

Just in case you want to do tyre size comparisons there is a useful tool here: http://www.exploroz.com/Vehicle/Tyres/SizeCalc.aspx

    What battery

I got 5 years out of the OEM battery and most of that time the vehicle was parked outside and I lived in Queanbeyan which gets pretty bloody cold during the winter months and therefore tough on a battery. I decided to replace with the same battery and am hoping to get at least 5 years again but...

    driving style

Like others have pointed out tyre pressure is just one of the many inputs to getting the best fuel economy out of your vehicle.....but it is an important one nonetheless. The "4psi Rule" is one that works for me but rather than me trying to explain it you could go to either of these links for a...

    D40 Coil spring rear end

Keen to see the car period. Would love to have a first hand look if it's not too far from me.....any idea where it is located?

    heater not working

Sorry to bring this up again....but as many would know I've been having a few electrical problems that has had the car back to Nissan a couple of times. They fitted a new timing chain and in the process somehow shorted the wiring to the starter motor. Anyway they finally found and fixed that...

On the back of the tow truck again.....

Update Well got the car back late this afternoon and all was good.....or so it seemed. Had power and donk etc going well and then I tried to get some heat in the cabin on the drive back to Ulladulla from Nowra....oooops no heat even with the dial at the max heat position. Haven't checked...

On the back of the tow truck again.....

Now that would really piss me off.

    freewheel hubs

I don't think it is possible to fit FWH to the D40 due to the drive line configuration.

    Rear axle seals

Mine failed recently and were replaced under the extended factory warranty. But I'm thinking that there is still a small amount of oil seeping past the seals and will be highlighting the issue again.

On the back of the tow truck again.....

Update After waiting a couple of days for a new fusible link block it was fitted and promptly blew again. Now going through a full check to try and find where the short might be.....I'm thinking that something was disturbed during the replacement of the timing chain last week and they are now...

    My D40 Front Recovery Points

The holes are in the chassis so I don't understand what you meant by "close to the chassis as possible" ????

    My D40 Front Recovery Points

Here's a pic of my recovery points. There are made by Outback Ideas - fit directly into the OEM pre-threaded holes in the chassis.
