    New suspension

Just on $2g fitted. Yeah it rides good. Pleased with it. Yet to hook up the Camprite but should be able to adjust the air pressure in the bags to compensate for the weight. Thanks everyone for the input.

    New suspension

After a bit of ringing around I settled on a local 4wd suspension specialist. He said that he fitted at least 1 D40 suspension upgrade a week. Mostly tradies that were disapointed with what Nissan had offered them from new. He recomended a Ironman kit with a Pollyair HD bellows air bag kit...

    New suspension

I have heard about Ultimate suspension. Im thinking it wouldn't meet my budget though. Do you remember the approx parts cost Nathan? Thanks for your post. Edit: Just found the price on their website. It's a bit out of my budget at $1735 + freight.

    New suspension

Thanks for the link Al. My D40 don't have T Bars though. I see they have a D40 kit though. Also I need to add the 80kg I carry around with the weight of the canopy and drawers. Probably 200kg at a guess. I would think I need a constant load kit for the rear.

    New suspension

Thanks for the reply Navarian. Much appreciated. Still got the cruiser for more "hardcore" weekends away. The new Nav is a work vehicle 90% of the time but is way more comfortable and powerfull than the Cruiser so will get used for suitable weekend getaways as well.

    New suspension

I have $1500 to spend on new suspension. (parts only not installation). I am looking to at least order it next week. What do you recomend? I have been thinking ironman is good value at way less than $1500 but can I get better for a bit more? I have an ARB canopy as well as Outback drawer...

    Airbags or Lift kit

I just got a new D40 and ARB fitted a canopy and a set of Outback drawers. These alone made the arse sag to around an inch lower and the ride is terrible. It's quite disapointing really. I have been told by a few local shops airbags would solve all my problems. I think I'm going to replace the...

    My Navara

My STR is gone. Got rid of it for a mildly decked out 105 series diesel Landcruiser. The lack of back seat room was the main reason. Was a great vehicle none the less. Easliy the most reliable vehicle I'd ever owned. Was a little sad to say the least.

What are the largest sized tyres I can fit?

MTZ's in 285x75x16 are recommended to fit a 7" rim.

    Oricom CB Radio

I just put one into the wifes Terracan. It works fine and has more features than my Uniden UH090. (except AM). I should have put it into my STR  With a ground independent antenna kit it was $270.00. Will be good value if it lasts.

How do i remove the oil filter holder?

I had the same happen to me. (cheap rachet though). Just use a breaker bar when the engine is cold. You just need leverage and it will come off. My breaker bar has a 1/2 inch lug on it minus the ratchet part.

How do i remove the oil filter holder?

Wait till the engine cools down and use a breaker bar to undo it anti clockwise. Sounds like someone has overdone it a little when putting it on last. From memory its just a 1/2 inch ratchet that fits in it.

    What are your Christmas plans?

We stayed there a few months back Brad. It is a great place. Spacious (separate) camp sites so no one else camps 12 inches from you. Great outlook as well as flush toilets and hot showers. The people that run it are very friendly. We hired a 2 person canoe and a kayak all day for only the 1...

D22's with 32's,33's Post your pics

Hey Jason. They are my daily drivers and have been on for approx 6k now. Now really long enough to tell how they are going to wear. All other aspects I'm happy with them. They are a bit noisy but definitely not bad. They are good in the wet. They work better than I expected in sand as well.

They did rub at first. Cut some of the plastic mud flaps away on the front and done some mild panel beating with a hammer. Didn't take much. That size MTZ is recommended to fit onto a 7 to 9 inch rim so no probs with the standard rims. The only time they have rubbed now is with tyres deflated...
