your problem sounds like the bump stops, just chuck some grease on them (both the bump stop bolt and the the plate the bump stop rubs on). t.griff said he got a loud squeak, hmm, could be the same issue? if you read this then try it out as well mate, see if that fixes the noise you got

try do what the original poster did? get some bluetac and pieces of wool string, and stick them around on the bonnet, especially in front of the bonnet scoop. take it for a drive and get some pics at say 80km/h or so, so we can still the effect it has, or not
