Discussion - "illegal" modifications to vehicles

i have 11 leaf super stiff mine spec rear spring packs, i have no issues with round abouts... however, when i take corners fast (sometimes on purpose), my back inside tyre will usually lift off the ground haha. it once nearly lifted a foot off the ground, but i was trying to.

tyres are funny things... my stock 195R14 tyres held better in the rain then the set of cooper ATR 225/75R16's that i bought and put on the nav. in the wet changing through the gears, 1st, spin, 2nd, spin, 3rd was fine til the turbo kicked in about 20m down the road after getting traction in...

Discussion - "illegal" modifications to vehicles

the reason i got told that extended shackles arent able to be approved/engineered is because when you use extended shackles you effectively put more load on the spring hangers when cornering as the gap between leaf spring and spring hanger is much bigger meaning that there is more twisting...

no offence, but maybe if you learnt to drive properly you wouldnt be sliding through all the round abouts in the wet... that or you need new tyres! i never had the issue of round about drifting/sliding? i only did when i tried to by putting my foot down. if you keep doing it even when going...

i'm sorry, i just dont see the point of lowered cars. there is no benefit from what i can see, even though you say handling, but if driving to the speeds then any car should handle properly.

also most lowered cars are deemed unsafe because most people are cheap, they just chop the springs or use crappy lowering blocks. also dropping a car very low, affects your geometry, aka, massive camber wear. which means the wheels arent flush/sitting correctly to the ground.

if your super low car got hit by a 4wd, he'd probably go straight over you... its better to hit things head on then try go under them

The V6 Diesel D40 has arrived.

being a variable vane turbo on the d40's, i say it could be an electrical issue? but yeah, check for hoses first.

uh oh black smoke no go...

i reckon its an electrical fault for it to instantly change from perfect to a no goer... always electronics causing us grief these days! and if it is the turbo, you'll probably be denied warranty for not following proper cooling down methods (even in my landcruiser manual from 1998 it says that...
