Haha I've got my 2.5CR sounding tuff as nails but it wasn't cheap..... And who care if a 3ltr will beat a patrol off the line, if you want a race car go and buy a skyline, I want a tuff car off road andf am looking forward to having something with a solid front axle that won't lift tyres on...

The 4.2's need to stay cool, a good exhaust and a big intercooler will help a treat. Heaps of people boosting them to high with out doing other work and they run to hot and pop

I'm just about to sell my Nav to buy a 4.2 GU wagon, feels weird selling a car with 50thou for a 10 yr old car with 200thou on it but at the end of the day we have 4wd's for a reason and you can't go past a 4.2td patrol for capability and reliability......

Only oil it really lightlty as it can gum up the airflow sensor, looked at using 1 for ages but not 1 person I spoke to advised to do it

When mine was breaking down under high rpm/boost ( 10psi ) I found that the fuel pump was failing, replaced it with I think a bosch 044 pump and away it went with no probs at all

3" is not to big for a 2.5......... I couldn't be happier with mine and it sounds great, full turbo back system for $1000

6x9's in boxes behind the seats with an amp, make the wiring a bit longer and then you can move them around as well

I have a turbo back 3" exhaust and a steinbauer chip and when it was dyno'd the best results was with the boost in the mid 18psi range, tried the boost at levels up to 21 but there were no power benifets what so ever

No point getting 285's with only a 2" lift, it will scub to all buggary and will be shithouse off road, Better to go with a set of 265/75's for usability

The fron locker is definately on the cards for me as well along with a canopy to keep things in the back nice and dry...... Sometimes I wonder if all the cash that goes into it is worth it but I guess if they serve there purpose its all worth it..... wish they had a better suspension set up up...

Youi will cover you for all of your mods and they also cover for Off Road 4x4 use as well, if you need they can add hire car, windscreen cover and all of that sort of stuff as well..... There claims service is awesome and we cover the car policies for storm, hail and flood as well...

Ebay would be the way to go, I got a 3" turbo back system....Mandrel bent with 3" dump and high flow cat (no mufflers) for $1100, was pretty happy to pay that as it is an awesome system

Mad Nav...... Just for your info mate, Youi has an option to include windscreen cover, unlimited cover for front back and side windows including canopy windows and sunroofs and if you take the option there is only a $50 window XS, they also replace any tinting on the window free of charge as well
