I don't believe so. Not sure about the engine mounts, but I understand the bell housing on the gearbox is different between the SD and TD engines. You may be able to swap bell housings over.

Whistle at high revs? Leak in the exhaust manifold? Not sure if it would cause misfire, but could cause power loss at high revs, as you won't be getting the air flow that you need. BTW, might do better posting in the D22 section :)
