Towed my caravan to Kalkalo up the hume highway 240kms and used 60 ltrs at 100kph caravan weight is about 2.2t i have just booked it in for a diesel/gas conversion to try to get some economy and more power

Errics on that note i feel better i will keep driving doesnot seem to be a major problem and 2k would be better spent on a diesel gas system. Ozzie

They are around $4500 but depending where you are you get a rebate off the good ol goverment vic was $2000 but it has dropped i think to about $1500 but te one i hade on a rodeo 2.8 was great more power and better economy. Ozzie

D40 vibration Thanks Ericcs i will be doing a lot of towing as i have recently purchased a new van i will worry about it when it gets annoying as it sounds like a pricy thing to fix. Ozzie

Thinking of fitting a diesel/gas system on my D40 auto to try and get a bit better economy and power i have had a ecoshot system on my last vehicle that i was more than happy with has anyone had any experience with the diesel gas system or ecoshot on the 2.5 D40 ? Ozzie

Do you think this will eventually fail i only have about 70k on the clock and are thinking about travelling up north?

I have a d40 auto 07 on a recent trip to Melbourne towing a 2.2 tonne van at about 90 kmh i put it into overdrive for about 10mins on the flat and noticed a bad vibration i thought it was the road and it went away after a few mins i then put it back out of overdrive and carried on for a while...

Dazza i just done trip to Deni ute muster averaged 13.5 ltrs /100kms 2007 D40 stx auto with a steel tray, bullbar, 265x 75 x16 tyres have removed pdf and fitted chipit race pipe and snorkle this was loaded i was gettin around 15ltrs/100km standard empty. Ozzie

Joe Looked at the extended hitches would be a easy solution but i wouldn,t tow a van on one thanks anyway Ozzie

Nakedape Yah was thinking more along the lines of extending the draw bar only need 150mm this would be stronger than tongue extensions Cheers Ozzie
