the rim needs to fit over the hub and these use the wheel studs to hold em on. i cant see how they would fit

No way they will fit... d40 only has clearance for the spindle nut.... wheel nuts are to close together...

Does any D40 anywhere in the world come out with locking hubs. I know with the D22 a genuine hub will bolt straight on. Just remove the locking ring. D22 DX's don't have hubs standard.

not that this is for a d40 but for hubs to fit they would have to look something similar to the small skinny one
