What are these?

Just took the dash of my d22 apart to get to a leak (bad heating radiator) and found these two boxes.
If anyone knows what they are could you please enlighten me?

black box looks like frequency modifier to correct the speedo due to bigger tires being fitted.
silver box looks like ecu. i assume that is mounted under the heater aera inline with center console.

if the black box is what you say it is it's doing a poor job, 110 on speed is like 95-100.

Silver box is sitting in center console under where the heater was.

What size tyres are on it? They may have had bigger tyres on but changed back to standard size and didn't adjust the box back again...

Yes the silver one is the ecu
