Hi Guys, only new to the forum I am having issues with the running of my car. Ill give you a quick rundown, I have a 2010 D40 2.5ltr Thai built Navara.. I recently went through a water crossing and have now had issues ever since. The car has been to Nissan and a local 4x4 mechanic and they both cant seem to find the issue. I have had the scanner on it and its showing an issue with the MAF sensor and the TPS sensor. Both Nissan and this other bloke have cleaned the sensors and they are still showing up as a fault.

The issue its having is, it starts and runs fine but when I start driving it loses power if you put your foot flat to the floor but if you have it slightly on it runs fine (under powered but better then none lol). If I run the car for say 15min then stop it, restart it and drive off all is ok the car feels like nothing is wrong and all power is restored? I figured possibly a MAF sensor might need replacing but dont want to fork out that sort of money if it isnt the problem.

Cheers in advance for the help guys!

Not sure if the TPS relearn works on the 2.5 but worth a try. Get it up to operating temp then leave it to idle for a full 10 minutes, this resets the TPS idle point.

It sounds for all the world like a dirty SCV (suction control valve). It may only need cleaning - clean it in petrol, rinse it clean in diesel and reinstall.

If that doesn't help it, check the earth to the ECU (and while you're at it, both battery posts and the engine earth from battery).

Last thing for now is the turbo actuator. Your solenoid might have dodgy contacts - this is mounted on the intercooler's intake pipe. There should be a plug on it, remove and put it back several times to give the contacts a clean. This will stop the turbocharger from responding properly.

Those stray codes make me think ECU earth though, so that'd be a fair place to start.

Hi Old Tony, I've been having similar problems, 1st&2nd gear fine but 3rd gear under load , goes into limp mode and I can't go over 40 klm/hr until I go downhill, this has been worse when it's raining. I've replaced SCV, MAF sensor, air filter, connections that you previously posted. Any ideas on as to what it could be? My next move is EGT sensor, as I have blocked off EGR valve.

In the D22s, if the NPS becomes faulty, this exact thing happens. Unplug the NPS (blue connector on the top of the gearbox) and the problem is solved.

In your D40 it might still be gearbox-sensor related, but that doesn't happen as frequently as it does on the D22. It would be worth unplugging and plugging back in the plugs on the gearbox to start with, in case it's just debris.
