Ok, different test (and don't do it too many times): if the car's been running, and you turn it off (say at the shops) and come back to it, no problem starting? Get home, leave the car overnight, get in - problem starting? That's indicative of a fuel leak. Harder to discover the location thanks to a lack of primer.


Do the hoses look good, no external cracking? I'd guess the leak would be up on the high side, probably BEFORE the filter, given that there's a bit of fuel to let the engine start and run a little before it gives up.
