Just wondering if a 285-70-17 will fit on standard d40 rims? Original tyres are a 255-65-17.

I dont know about 17's but i have 285/75/16's on my factory 16 inch rims and i'm pretty sure they are both the same width. So i would say they should fit.

they will fit... on a 7 inch rim (don't know if the 17's on the d40 are 7" or 8"), 285 is the limit, if you want to go wider, you'll need wider rims.

Cheers for the info, I'm pretty sure there a 7" rim so looks like there good to go.

285's on a 7" wheel are illegal afaik.
