Trying to reset ECU in D40 AUTO

HI, i have been trying to reset the computer in my D40 Navara, have tried both ways as listed on this forum, but it wont reset. the light on the dash remains on !

would a sensor be the trouble ??

Have gutted the DPF, and spaced the O2 sensor out ??

any ideas would be helpful thanks

If the Check Engine Light remains on after a proper reset, then there's a permanent problem with an error code that needs clearing. People with Scangauges or tools like Ian Hawkin's Torque application can do that for you. It would be interesting to know what the code was, too.

When you remove the battery lead, press your foot on the brake and hold it for 10 seconds to consume the remaining power in the ECU.
