hi guys on my speedo there is a dial that resets the amount of KM. its got A with the reading and you can change it to B which is a different trip reading. all that works fine but i should be able to change it to fuel log to see how many km till i have to fill up but i cant seem to change it. has anybody else had this problem and if so what was the solution?

Mine also doesn't have this feature. It's not accurate anyway - when I go to get more fuel, I always fill the car to where I can just see the fuel (allowing the foam if any to settle) and then write the km of the "A" trip meter on the docket. Then it's a simple formula:

Litres purchased divided by (km/100)

Let's say you purchased 67.5 litres of fuel and had travelled 688.5 km. The calculation would be (watch the decimal points closely here):

67.5 / 6.885 = 9.8LPHK

It's an easy trick: you move the decimal point in the KM reading to the left TWO places. Here's an actual one from my car:

1104.2km travelled
135.68 litres purchased (I have a Long Ranger tank, 150L total)

135.68/11.042 = 12.287LPHK

Is yours a 2.5 ltr, are you towing, that seems a bit thirsty.

Mine's a 2009 model 2.5L diesel, that was not towing, but I had roof bars and a basket up there which has added a bit to my consumption. Here's another one. 4 people + clothing for 2 weeks + full Engel fridge in back, Newcastle -> Launceston without refuelling:

1118km travelled
120.91 litres used
120.91/11.18 = 10.6028LPHK

Interesting, I had a 2.5 manual 2009 model and I used to get 9-10lp100klm and that was chipped. Had roof racks but no basket etc.
