gday guys.

i know this topic has been covered by my searches........but they were discussed a fair while ago. so what is everyones thought on this subject now?

i have a jayco outback swan that is the usual weight. i now have fitted a 3 inch exhaust with same size dump pipe which makes a big difference to towing alone :)))

your thoughts would be appreciated :cheers!:

Tow it at whatever speeds feel comfortable and whatever speeds you can handle.

You'll know when you're straining the engine. There's no harm in using the highest possible gear to reduce the fuel consumed, as long as you aren't making the engine struggle.

Getting your vehicle to cruise in top right where the max torque comes in is the most efficient point - in the D40, that's about 95km/h on standard tyres.
