hey mate the rails just rivet onto the tub. its a pretty easy job, when i done mine i went up a size in rivets just to make it a bit stronger and that sticky shit is just double sided tape. i had a 2nd hand one and the tape was a bit shit so i peeled it all off and replaced it. not sure exactly what its for but i think i remember reading somewhere it stops water from entering and whatever else (I'm sure there a better reason lol). also when you drilling out the holes in the tub, drill the first one and just sit the pop rivet in there and then drill out the last one of that rail and sit that rivet in there so you can just mark out the rest of the holes and you know it won't have moved. make sure you spray the holes with some rust prevention stuff and clean out all the shavings. cheers
