i am looking at a 1988 diesel (2.5L) 2x4 dual cab
price is bout $5K from a dealer (RWC and 6mth REGO ETC)
for its age it's got VERY low klms (125k) and is in very good condition
looks like grandad kept it in the shed for sunday dump runs...
it does not have AC or Power steer
i would like AC but PS does not worry me so much
i just need it to go to work in about 12klms each way 5 days a week and the normal bunnings runs on weekends
what issues should i be looking closely at ?
i really just need something that will not break down.....
i wont be pushing it hard or going that far in it
i can do minor servicing / repairs but have never owned a diesel before
so the good is
it's in great condition and low klms
has four doors and ticks most my boxes
the bad
it's getting OLD i guess...
NO ac
is $5k way to much ? (but you dont get much of a car for under 5K)
how hard would it be to fit AC to it and will the motor be ok running it ?
(after market kit?)
