steering squeak in d22

hey guys kinda new on the site dunno if anyone will be able to help me but iv owned 2 navaras d22 new one is 2006 str now and both had the same problem at full lock the steering makes a horrible noise like metal on metal does anyone else have this problem or can someone help me with what i need to do to fix it?

Put some grease on the steering stops also can replace the plastic\rubber stops which have worn out.

behind the front wheels. if you get underneath you'll see where the stops are. There is a pic somewhere on this forum. try a search.

The stops are a plastic item and available from your Nissan dealer - $2.90 each and you need 4 - there is one in front and one behind each front wheel. The stops are a metal rod about 3 inches long with the hex cap on the end. They do wear out and are easy to get off and simply push the new ones on.

That ofcourse is only the solution if that is your problem!!!
