Starting issues

Hey guys
My 04 zd30 is having some starting issues.
Starts first kick runs for a about 5 seconds then shuts down.
Second attempt takes about 10-20 seconds until finally kicks over. When she is warm starts fine only cold starts or after it has been sitting for couple of hours. I have replaced fuel filter could it be glow plugs?

the fuel filter could be your problem. if there is an air leak in the fuel lines at filter or the filter is not sealed well to base bracket the fuel pressure will drop off while the vehicle is sitting. it will start easy when warm as fuel pressure is up but say overnight standing fuel pressure drops off as mentioned.
check to make sure the filter is tight on the base bracket thingy plus both fuel lines at filter end are also nice and tight. in the morning pump up the primer until its hard then see how the engine starts also give a couple more pumps when the engine is running. make sure theres no deisel leaks at filter.
