Its been covered but need some exact answers. Wanna do 2.5" lift front and 2" rear (spacers and shackles) on stock suspension. It's not for offroad use nor do i carry "weight" in the tray.

Bad idea? Good or bad experiences? I am aware that shackles are illegal in all states

I thought that would have kept it level? What problems can arise from the use of extended shackles?

You could be declared unroadworthy in New South Wales......and no doubt your insurance company could also wipe you if you install extended shackles. See attached.

Hey Cobez-Just installed extended 2" shackles on standard D40 ST springs they did lift rear end but have also flattened std springs. I do have a constant load of approx 150kg in tray with slide outs so not sure if that is problem. So now am changing to 50mm raised med load springs and going back to std shackles. Front spacers to coils a fine.

Straight away,I was concerned so thats why I phoned the 4wd suspension places and was advised to replace springs. I guess to also make it legal. But then remembered that we have a specialist spring company here and went and spoke to them. They said if I were to carry a constant heavy load like big tradesmen toolboxes and such in the rear they will fail, but if the load is only my slide out's, camping gear or the odd towing of the van they are not a problem.

I think im gonna play it safe. Just waiting on a call back from a 4WD joint local to work. Ironman 2" leafs (not constant load), extended gas shocks and just run coil spacers in the front on the factory coils and shocks. For the sake of not that much more cash, it may save headaches longterm. Might just do the leafs myself. Pretty easy, straight forward job.

In hindsight i would have gone new springs and spacers too but for the moment will get moneys worth out of the shackles and upgrade later.

Oh but you will need some 25mm spacers in the front to make it sit level. Pretty easy to fit too and they dont cost much. About $180 from Snake racing.
