Ello from the UK, Looking for advise or some ideas on how to get more performance, outa the ol' girl.

I've got an Aventura 56 Reg 174 bhp, what's the best thing to go for?. Remapping or performance chip?.

If so, any company recommendations, prices etc.

Any useful info would be appreciated.

Is the Aventura an X-Trail? Is it petrol or diesel, turbo or NA?

There are different ways to approach the different types. In any of them, a larger exhaust will give a little more, as would removing some of the emission control gear if you just want to use it off-road (as removing these makes the car unroadworthy in the eyes of the law).

Chipping the car can provide good results as many here will attest to, just be aware that it does so at the expense of fuel economy - although you can use the "better performance" in a miserly way and actually improve your economy rather than using the horsepower gain for speed.

Then there are air filter changes, EGR blocking, catch cans, LPG injection (mostly for diesels) - the list goes on. Tell us a little more about the motor?

The adventura is a pommy spec D40.

As tony said changing the exhaust system from the turbo back will help.

There are plenty of chips on the market aswell to suit your needs, may I ask why you need the extra power.

The D40's fly anyway stock.

Dave.
