Can anyone recommend a good replacement radio head unit with GPS and car play for my 2012 Navara D40 ST?

Just don't.
I'll look at Kenwood or similar next time. Won't replace it at the moment - it's mostly functional - but I won't do that again.

I installed this unit on my 2013 D40:

It doesn't have GPS but it has wireless Apple Car and Android Auto so I use the google maps from my phone.

I bought mine from ebay. less than 300 bucks. came with a reversing camera, sounds awesome, 9 inch screen took 90 mins to fit and be happy with it. Chinese mapping software is a bit crappy, so I just use the supplied USB and connect the phone.
I got android version of eBay gps Apple CarPlay reverse camera etc downloaded hems maps into it works great for all that just has a mind of its own when you want to listen to music for some reason it likes to change itself from radio to usb whenever it wants too so have a replacement on its way free of charge see how that goes for $165 I can’t complain it does everything I want and need that’s for sure
