Removing Rear Step -Number plate lights?

Hi All,

I have modified my rear step with a pole, I can open my tailgate. If I remove it is there anything i can attach my number plate lights to?

ive got a good step im not using. $50 has plastic steps but no number plate lights. im out near ipswich

Thanks, not looking to replace. Getting a new tub and mcc rear bar on insurance. Just need an interim solution.
