Canberra have pity !!!!!
Just wondering has anyone tried to remove the black tinting stuff from behind the rear view mirror. Im talking about the black perforated stuff they use to hide the mirror . Is it just paint that can be scratched off?

i want to mount the camera up above the mirror but below the tint band but that black stuff is there .

Yeah thats what I was thinking it looks like its painted on .Just thought would ask to see if anyone ever tried it

Just went and tried on both the Nav and the Crumpledoor and its as hard as a rock almost like its ceramic baked on . The blade didnt even touch it

Dunno what it is, but it is on the O'Brien replacement screen I have as well.
I was surprised about that, I had thought it was just a Nissan thing.

Good luck with that , The perforated stuff that your talkin about is called Dot matrix and is applied by the Glass manufacturer. I think an aftermarket screen one should come off with some effort but factory stuff on zone tuffened glass is actually baked on and would be almost impossible to get off
