im more inclined to go for Honda as i have both honda mower and whipper snipper still going strong after 10 yrs...

Depends if you want gears or the CVT, the honda would be lots more fun having the gears and probably alot more reliable, the yamaha looks the goods though.
I have had both in 350 farm quads and loved the honda with gears and auto clutch.
