Im looking at buying a D22 with the QD32 engine and have a few questions about:

Fuel economy?
Longevity?
Turbocharging: will it kill the engine prematurely?
Is push rod cam a disadvantage?

Pretty good for a heavy ute, 10L/100km unloaded.

Longevity?

I'm at 400,000 and still going strong... What are you looking to get out of it?

Turbocharging: will it kill the engine prematurely?

Don't overboost it and you won't notice any dramatic shortening of life span. 7psi is good.

Is push rod cam a disadvantage?

Do you want a ute or a race car? You won't notice any performance disadvantage in a diesel light truck motor.

Not the fastest by any means but bullet proof.

People talk up the shit house TD42 as the best Nissan Diesel built motor, the QD32 has a better intake then the TD Series motor's. Dont overheat on hills like the shit box TD42 either.

The QD32 is the best Nissan Diesel built motor built.
