QD 32 turbo up grade

hi all i have a D22 with the QD 32 motor and i would like to fit a turbo to it now the motor has done 490000 ks
i would like your input on this is the motor worth putting the turbo on or would i just be wasting my time and money and just swap the motor for a ZD30

Swapping for a ZD30 without a complete donor car would suck and cost a lot. You could just go for the turbo and would probably be fine for a fair while but I'd get the QD32 rebuilt and then turbo it. QD32T makes just as much torque as a ZD30, makes it earlier, and will last a long time. And when you're out in the bush you're not relying on a computer to keep the motor running.

There are a few qd32 turbo builds on here. All have come out successful with great gains. Turbo and good tune and dyno tune will give you great results. I would do the hole package at once though. Turbo, intercooler, 80series air box and rebuild. Only rebuild if its in the budget. Those qd32 motors are good for a long time. Your 490000 is a fair hit and its provably still fautless

compression test it first. if its not reasonable then your looking at a rebuilt before turbo.
and i would rebuild rather than try and fit a ZD30 in.
