Position of winch control box in engine bay

Hi all,

I am installing a winch to my d22 this weekend and had a brain wave to put the control box in the engine bay. 1. To keep away as much as possible from crap
2. T be able to fit bigger spotties to the front.
Any thoughts?

Yup Mines in behind the grill because I have Narva 225s and they take up a lot of room.

I got rid of the box and mounted the solenoid pack behind the grill on a plate i made, with an isolation switch inside the engine bay. Only way I could make it all fit. I spray the solenoid pack with soft seal occasionally. (Crc make it, green can). The box just fills with water and then solenoid pack terminals go rusty. At least the way I did it I can keep an eye on it. Works for me anyway.
