Noisy Starter

Hi all the starter on my 1990 D21 2.4 petrol is very noisy, has been since I bought it, I had a new drive put in it, no difference, still noisy, I'm thinking it has the wrong drive or it's the wrong starter, any ideas ?

There are a few different starters you can get for the Z24, with a different number of teeth. Not sure if they all work or if you need to get the same one or not.

What sort of noise? Can you describe it? I mean, they're noisy devices anyway.

Obvious solution is to disconnect the power, but I suspect that won't help, right?

Check out the "U Shaped spring inside your Solenoid it might have a small hard to see break in it, the same as mine did!
