Hey fellas, I am a youngish fella from aus. I have a 2004 navara 5 speed manual with a zd30 common rail turbo swapped in from a newer nav. it developed a knock and the diesel injector pump went bye byes and now I have come here to ask for help with a sort of cheap and unique engine swap I am wanting to do, since I will badly be needing a Ute in 2023, and want to spend the next year working on it. Gday mate. The newer Navs had a 2.5l (YD25). The common rail ZD30 was in the Patrol and I haven't heard of one being bunged into a Navara before, though I have wondered
If it is the injector pump then you are looking at around 4.5k for a regular VP44 ZD30. Probably less for a common rail as those pumps are generally cheaper than a VP44. If the knock is in the engine then a new one might be the go.
What is the unique swap you have in mind?

Thanks. I was told it was a common rail from a newer navara by my mechanic but he was horrible with what he done to my car so I wanted to go through the community so see what was right. I am planning on doing a ford intech swap into it because I will be needing it in 2022
