Hi Guys,

Thanks for inviting me to join.

My name is steve and I have just purchased my first 4WD. It's a 2010 ST (Thaii built) Navara.

I don't want to bother you with old questions, so if you want to direct me to relevant threads - please do so.

Genuine Nudge bars - is the bar for the ST (Thai) different to that of the ST-X (Spanish)? Do they interchange?

Genuine (EGR) Hard Lid - same question. ST - ST-X Do these interchange?

Thanks again for having me along.

Welcome to the forums NN, thanks for accepting the invite (from whoever sent it)

As far as I remember from previous threads, there are many differences between the ST and STX and the nudge bar is one of those differences. You should find a number of threads relating to different differences in the D40 section.

The lid I am not sure about, I think the tub is the same size but some eles will know for sure.

Thank you Krafty & Scotty.

I found out today that there are definitely two different part numbers for the ST and ST-X nudge bar. So mystery 1 has been solved - for me at least.

The next one is the hard lid. Surely you would think the tubs are the same size...

I'll do a bit more fishing around and see if I can get it confirmed.

In the meantime, if anyone else can shed some light on, if there is a difference between the hard lids required for an ST versus and ST-X (twin cab), it would be very much appreciated.

They changed the tubs between the 09 and 10 model D22's so there is a possibility they did it between the ST and the ST-X, I'm sure there is a thread around about it. Otherwise I'm sure the spec sheet from the Nissan website will give you the current sizes of both tubs and somewhere here I still have the spec sheet from the 09 so it's possible to compare them.

Who would have thought...

Thanks Krafty.

A wealth of knowledge within you.

Who would have thought that there could be so many differences between models that look (to the untrained eye) all the same.

I actually looked further into the differences, things like restraints etc and thought about listing some of those since so many people ask about them but honestly the info just takes too long to compile, by the time the next model comes out I might have made the effort to whack a bit more in the thread but don't hold you're breath

Restraints / anchor points

Krafty, I'm sure you have better things to do with your time.

Don't talk to me about restraints / anchor points.

When purchasing my new car, the dealer told me with confidence that the ST had anchor points. (I have twin 17 month old girls).

He even tilted the seat back foward and pointed to two steel loops protruding frrom the seat base.

When I got home and begun to fit the seats using these loops, I thought I best check the manual. It just didn't look right. And sure enought the manual read "This model is not fitted with anchor points". End of chapter. The two metal loops turned out to be metal springs from the seat base.

Fortunately, I found an RTA accredited fitter in Brookvale Sydney, who fitted two points for me for $200 (for the two) - While I waited!

(Thanks heaps Peter!)

You're not the first person to be caught out by that omission by Nissan but it's good that you found a suitable fix for the problem, the address might even help others since the question comes up semi regularly on this forum.

As for having better things to do with my time, well yes I do but the problem is I can't be bothered working right now so I might add a few more things while I ignore work for a bit longer.

Some whore, so far I haven't been paid a cent by you lot no matter how many different ways I've tried to F*&k you over or vice versa!!
