Hi guys I have a 2012 model d40 , it's just clocked over 40,000kms and I wanna change the fuel filter. It's different to the old type witch was pretty easy to change, the one on mine looks a bit more complex with 4 hoses going to it and no primer. Just wondering if anyone has any steps on best way of changing it? Cheers.

the primer bulb should be underneath the filter, undo the hoses and electrical connector, undo the bracket clamp bolt completely. twist the fuel filter so the drain tap lines up with the gap in the bracket and pull it out upwards. replace and pump the primer until hard. voila

Welcome to the forum, Nevets. Are you using an aftermarket or genuine filter? If aftermarket, it would be interesting to see your results of both installation and performance/vehicle response after a couple of hundred km.

Many who have fitted aftermarket fuel filters have discovered that the small seal inside doesn't seal too well and air gets in - evidenced by difficult starting in the mornings and a primer bulb that can be squeezed more than 5-6 times.

This is true! had many headaches from guys fitting aftermarket filters. Poor flow rates and air ingress. Worth spending the $$ and going genuine!

Thanks guys, yeah I'm using genuine filter just thought it's def worth the money as I have heard those problems with aftermarket ones. Sounds easy enough so il give a go in next few days, also is it necessary to reset ecu?

Welcome......

For what I understand nissan replaces them at 40,000 anyway. A little odd but I've never owned a diesel till now. No I lie I'd owned a jackaroo for 9months It was only on the road for 1 week of that 9 months
