Gday All,

Im a newie to the site and just recently bought a 05 D22 STR V6 dual fuel
tray back with 91,000 on the clock.
Im looking at a lift kit or body lift install, if theres any pros and cons on what
i should go for please help!

Also is there anything major i need to know about my truck too??
and what to look out for....

cheers

:welcome: i would put a suspension lift over a body lift as it will lift all your running gear up as a body lift wont

Welcome to the forum!

+1 on the suspension lift - your chassis rises as well. The body lift is only really going to slightly affect the approach and departure angles and the vehicle's wading depth - which, since yours is a petrol, you wouldn't be doing much of anyway.

Dave would know better, but I think the '05 D22 is fairly sound. I don't recall reading much about it in a negative fashion - and this is the place where complaints about the vehicles are more common.

thanks for the feed back guys,

My next question is....... how difficult is it to install a 2" lift kit??

Easy - an afternoons work. You'll need a wheel alignment afterwards. It's up to you whether you replace torsion bars or to simply wind standard bars up.

I wound the bars up & replaced everything else with EFS gear.

V6 D22's are very reliable.

Only downside to them is fuel economy, there not to bad though.

Suspension lift over bodylift.

welcome mate.

another +1 to suspension lift first. as for installation. i had mine dont but once i saw how it all went in and how easy it looked if i had to do it again i owuldnt hesitate at all. in saying that i have done a suspension kit on a old pajero and that was simple coil rear and torsion front.

goodluck

Hi Buco, welcome to the site. I just bought a 2004 D22 ST-R. So far I love it :) the biggest problem is holding myself back from modding it out too quickly :truck: :sarcastic:

Once again thanks guys for the feed back!
Ill be going for the suspension lift kit and installing it myself,
but wont be for a little while cause i'v just finished an offroad buggy
which i still have alittle more money to spend on it!
After that its all D22 time and money!
