need help :-)

hi all my 1988 navara starts runs for about 10 seconds then dies. after tipping fuel down the carbie and starting it it runs again for 10 seconds i repeat this 3 time an then it will run fine all day untill i turn it off... i was thinking fuel pump..? any ideas . and do i have too remove my tank too get my pump out ???? cheers

Sounds like a leak in the low-pressure (suction) side of the fuel line (between the tank and the pump).
