Hi People

I hoping someone out there can help me, i have just started to get a problem with my navara die hard model 07.

When giving it a good drive it gets up to close to red line and then loses all power, it doesnt cut out just slowly loses power and wont accerate, i then stop and cut the engine out and start it up again and its fine. The engine management light comes on but has now gone off but still has the problem.

Has anyone else had this problem or can anyone put some light on it for me?

Thanks alot

Ben

Welcome to the forum!

There's a chance that your fuel pump is struggling to deliver fuel at those rpms, which could either be a fuel pump or a fuel filter issue.

There's also a chance that it's your air filter. A blocked air filter will reduce the airflow in the intake, which is picked up by the MAS (Mass Airflow Sensor) and the O2 sensor in the exhaust. According to the manual, if the MAS detects less air than required, it can force the engine into "fail-safe" mode - max 2400 rpm, throttle function heavily reduced.

Personally I don't see a need to rev the engine that hard.
