Hi Guys,
I just bought my first Navara. It's a second hand D40 STX 2.5 diesel dual cab. It use to be a tradies work horse so it has roof racks and bars everywhere. They'll be coming off pretty soon along with the silly Nissan bullbar. I'll be swapping that for a more purposeful ARB or TJM bar with a winch mount.

The only issue I have with the truck so far is the woeful rear view when parking it. Has anyone fitted an in-dash reversing camera/navigation/stereo unit to thier truck? They can be ridiculously expensive.

The truck is awesome! I love the power and the economy. And it is simply BRILLIANT to teach my teenage daughter to drive in it. Normally "L" Platers are treated as inferior peasants but you slap some bright yellow "L"'s on the back on a gloss black truck and you soon get some respect :)

Welcome to the forum!

I use an in-dash camera system, cost $3,000 supplied with the new vehicle - you can get less expensive units.

Nissan bullbars are made by ARB and if it's steel, it should already have the winch mounts behind your number plate - you'll have to relocate that like I did, but you might be able to save yourself some coin there.

Come along to our Christmas run - it's not far up the road from you - starting on Jilliby Rd into the Watagans and ending at Doyalson RSL. 10th Dec - there's a thread about this in the NSW section.

I learnt too drive in a 4x4, a 82 landcruiser, I think helps make you a better driver having learn maneuver and judge distances in such a large vehicle compared to learning in a small easy car then one day driving somethin bigger
