Does anyone know if modifying the original exhaust system eg. cutting off the rear can and adding a resignator. Will void manufacturers warranty on vehicle?

Im not 100% certain and im sure someone on here will be able to confirm or deny this but, from plenty of other threads on this forum that i have read about people with questions on voiding warranties, is that gor it to void the warrenty the mod has to be the cause of any break or damage, so they cant knock you back on warranty unless the mod was the cause of the probem. As i said one of the other forum members that has had more experience with warranties will
