Having bought a caravan last year & after reading a lot of reviews, we bought a pair of Milenco towing mirrors. We bought the large ones.
1st few trips away, no issues, other than they definitely do vibrate at cruising speed.
We drove Adelaide to Camooweal return via the east & west Mac's, Gemtree, Andamooka etc & even in driving rain with road trains coming the other way, they stood fast.
THEN........... driving up to Pt Wakefield with heaps of traffic overtaking us (dual carriageway) on a sunny, windless day (long weekend), the driver's mirror came off at about 100kmh as a car passed us.
My best guess is that the flat surface worked like a parachute when buffeted by the blowby from overtaking vehicles & it simply blew off.
