Hi all

i have recently had my 04 D22 3.0 rebuilt. It is now gutless, feels like im towing a boat behind me compared to what it used to be.

Any Idea"s on what could be going on??

Yeh mate I have put 3500kms on it so I'm thinking its run in.
Valve timing has been checked
Is it normal for it not to blow black smoke when u give it a flogging, as I know most diesel do.

I had it rebuilt by diesel specialists, but before doing so I bought a cheap eBay turbo as it was my turbo that stuffed up, later realised my engine was buggered too. Company that rebuilt my engine say that the cause of lack of power could be from the cheap turbo, could this be possible?

depends on if you have nurse it. they need loading up and putting some power down. that forces the rings to bed in. otherwise they tend to glaze up and you end up with low compression and ton of blowby.

shouldn't be blowing smoke. but with your guys crap fuel its hard to say.

could be turbo if its was totally crap.
any chance of comparing it to your old one?

whats the boost doing?
