Hi all,

Yesterday I washed the ute and gave the engine a little wash down with garden hose to remove the dirt and dust. Started it up and would only idle for 30 sec and conk out. Did that a few times and then it wouldn't start at all.

Found out that my chip got water in it.

So took chip off and the car now idles fine and starts when I want.

I'm assuming the car is in limp mode due to having no turbo boost. I can feel it and hear it not going it. Takes for ever to get to 40km/hr mark too.

Just wondering how do I get it out of limp mode and get the check engine light off with out taking to a mechanic (just don't have the cash for it).

Car has only got 40,000klm on it. No water in the fuel filter.

Cheers,
Andrew

Just disconnect the -battery lead, then turn the ignition on to drain any residual current, reconnect battery. Cross fingers then start it up and go for a drive.

So Nissan has identified the fault code as 23710-VN47A (fuel pump), they erase it then it comes back.

Have to disconnect all the plugs and try to dry them out and take it back and see if they can then erase it permanently.

Must say that Nissan Port Hedland was good. Didn't charge me at all for about 30min of their work but damn nissans.. Lesson learnt don't wash your car.

I got water in my air box once (d22 2.5) had about 100ml just sloshing around in there, the car went into limp mode which I thought was strange so I got the water out and left the filter in the sun for a few hours, problem went away.

Double check the fuel rail plug, sometimes the pins can get pushed back, so they dont make proper contact

will do. just brought mulitimeter to help diagnosis. fingers crossed its not too hard..

Does any body know where I can download a workshop manual or wiring diagram for a 2013 d22 yd25?

Nissan might not be covering the warranty because the Navara isn't built to have water over the engine.

So I can't wash the engine? I gave head office a good old yelling at this morning.

Fingers crossed they do cover it because it goes in on Friday get the problem diagnosed since they don't sell a workshop manual to the public for a 2013 D22 and at $170/hr they better find and fix it properly or I will give them another yelling.

When dealing with Nissan Dealers it pays to warm up your vocal chords before walking in the door.
