Just found oil leak from front LHS drive shaft & diff. Just behind the inner CV. What would be coursing this? Had a nocking on the same side for the last month do you think the differential bearing/s are stuffed?

I noticed a small leak in the same spot the other day, dropped pasted nissan to give them a look and they give it a wipe and want to inspect it again in 1000km, im not sure if its the bearing or if there is a seal on the outside of that bearing, im guessing i will soon find out, when they have to change it.

What I think is if you have a knocking in your drive line for a month then you should of had it looked at at least 3 weeks ago. Get them to look at the CV's

Would that scrub out the seal or damage the bearing.
Ordered a CV a week ago it should be in this week.

yep if its knocking then the shaft is moving any end drift will kill a seal in no time.

It's a D40 2.5 diesel S T X 2007 & it ended 130'000 Km. Checked the diff oil still full.

What about the differential bearing. Would I need to get *new*one of them as well?
