Hi all, just bought me a 2011 d 40 navara st dual cab 2.5 diesel . currently in the process of adding all the accessories to it. bullbar lights suspension etc . i bought a second hand genuine towbar without any wiring from a damaged vehicle, does anyone know if i can just wire(splice & solder) in a trailer plug as per normal or do i need a specific harness with a controller box as every one seems to advertise. or any other handy mods/tips with this model, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forums.

If you brought a genuine towbar it should have come with the correct harness I would imagine. The genuine harness splits at the tail light (left hand side I think) and it's just a "Y piece" with one side that goes to the lights and the other that goes to the towbar plug.

Welcome to the forum.if it is like a d22 harness go to a wreckers and unplug it.they are just plug and play if they are like d22
