intro and 4wd

hello everyone , just joined the club...!
enjoying the car but also seemed to join the 4WD engaging problem club..is there such a thing as a sensor problem (thats what the garage says or am I being taken for a ride)

You might want to let ppl know a little more like year, model, trans etc.

if its a D40, will need to have her in Neutral with foot on the brake.

+ One for the Neutral trick, its caught heaps of people out, even a DEALER didnt figure it out when one of the members of this forum took the car in with that prob. I bet they were very red faced for not trying the basic stuff first.

Welcome to the forum.

If you've got a D40, you can engage 4WD while you're driving without any problem. You need to stop the vehicle, put it in neural with your foot on the brake to engage 4LO.

An ABS fault will prevent you from getting into 4WD, but your ABS light should be on if that's the case.
