Just want to say hello to all and sundry and thanks.
Have been trawling the forum for a couple of months to pick up hints and tips and have been enjoying it. Picked up some good stuff especially from Old.Tony about just sticking the auto in "D" for dumb and lettin it sort itself out.
I have a 2011 D40, white, ARB canopy, alloy roo bar, GME uhf, dual batt & DC/DC charger in tray, Hayman Reece tow kit (for the new van) & thats about it for the moment.
I have a query for Old.Tony.... I notice you tow a van and I was wondering what sort of mirrors you use. I have a set of ORA mirrors that I used on the previous tug but when I tried them on the Navara I found the Navara mirror surrounds are very soft and flex like crazy. Even just the weight of the mirror bent the surround out of shape.
Thanks again and please bear with me if I've M
made any mistakes, I'm an old fart and not up with all this technological stuff.

Welcome to the forums, we've long been accepting old farts whether they make mistakes or not!

enjoy the forum.

Cheers.

Hi mate, you're just up the road from a few of us, you'll have to come out for a drive one day.

Gday and welcome !!!:welcome:

I love going to Donnybrook and camping at Mission point.

I hope your not the bastard that pinches my crab pots :rofl2:

Welcome to the forum, and thanks for the kind words!

I used to use clip-on mirrors but they don't stick out far enough and they vibrate way too much to be useful, so I use the mirrors you can get from most places, including Supercheap - here's a link to their item.

Here's a pic (just outside the gate at Ados) showing the mirrors on the car:

and here's one from another angle (Wombeyan Caves campground):

And finally just outside Oberon (as if you couldn't tell!) on our way home from Wombeyan Caves, a much better shot although the angle looks bad on the mirror, the car was leaning off the camber a bit:

Thanks for the feed-back fellas, and pics Tony.
Not guilty Steve. I just wait for high tide and the crabs take refuge in my shed to get away from all you crabbers.
