Hi,

I'm installing a reverse camera and need to get cabling through rear to reach the tub. There's already a thread in the forum that explains this but I can't seem to work this out, it says :

" at left hand side behind the back seat there is a vent, the vent has a rubber flap on it to stop water getting it but you can easily push the wire through from inside the cabin."

There was also a mention of a rubber grommet.

I have pulled the rear seats and removed the plastic panel but can't find the vent or the grommet. Should I be looking at the bottom of the seats or the rear "wall" ? I'm a bit hesitant to pull out the rest as I may already be looking at this wrong. I have attached a photo. This is a 2011 D40.

thanks !
Jon

Might be talking about the air exhaust vent? If you look at the back of the cab drivers side from outside you will see it, I ran my UHF cable back to the tub and went out under the drivers seat and along chassis rail, there's a rubber grommet under there

As scooba says it's an exhaust air vent, on the D40 it's on the passenger side by the look of it on the D2 it's on the drivers side. Look between the tub and the cab and you should see it then it gives you and idea where to look inside, in the D40 it's easy to find, I'd have thought it would be the same in the D22.

In the D40 tub (Spain atleast) there is two oval shaped grommets at the bottom of the front tub wall, one of those almost lines up with the cabin vent.

Edit: Just saw the D40 bit, I'm pretty sure you'll find it under the carpet on the passenger side and you don't need the plastic panel to come off.

The grommets should be on the floor behind the seats you should be able to see them from underneath the car as well.
The vent is behind the square part of the carpet cover that you have left on, on the passenger side.
Hope this help
Good luck

Cheers
