Do you mean the thermocouple probe? 5 is a lot! What exactly failed? What brand of thermocouple and gauge are you using? Where is the probe installed?

never heard of anyone having an aftermarket egt sensor fail.

i'm assuming you have the d40 model that has a factory egt sensor.
i would be keen to see some pics of it including the failed ones.

do you know how the sensor has failed?
eg tip broken, covered in soot, electrical connection broken, reading out of spec

ive seen the last 2 come out, only lightly covered in soot.

the Gen 3 sensors seem to last a few 1000 k's

this utes done 40k and i rekon ive done at least a quarter of those in limp mode.

sounds like need to work out what type they are and get aftermarket sensor.
diesels run a lot cooler egt than petrols. no way should they burn out.
maybe a vibration issue breaking the wires/connection.
or its reading out of range and incorrectly giving egt code.

I Wouldnt know even where to start to look for an aftermarket sensor, regardless its a new vehicle under warranty. these f@#kers should be able to fix it.

This fault will kill someone oneday, i myself has a near miss when i entered a busy round-a-about only to have no acceleration. thank god that b-double driver was on his a-game.

I've had 4 go on mine now , 2 within one week , which Nissan have replaced no worries at all . Have'nt had any go for a few months now touch wood but it is bloody annoying . Its clocked up 60,000 within 16 months but I guess it shouldn't really matter how quickly it does .
