Well i thought i may as well sign up and say hi...

Little bit of info,, Names Paul, live on the Nullarbor on the WA/SA border in Australia... Own 2 lovely Nissans,,, One is my toy which is a Nissan GQ Turbo Intercooled 4.2 diesel Patrol with all the goodies and the other is my comfort, 2010 Nissan Navara Spain buiilt with the 140kw motor, it has a flexiglass canopy, ARB deluxe winch bar and lightforce HID spots, dual batteries and uhf, with plenty more tto come including suspension and some other little creature comforts. I absolutely love the 6 speed manual and the pulling power, i am looking at fitting a chip later down the track.

Welcome to the forums Paul

Nice looking rigs, is that first picture taken out the front of the WA Ettamogah Pub (the red gabled roof kind of looks like it but I don't recognise the shop next door)

Are you at Border Village/Eucla or off in the boonies there somewhere?

yeah i took it on my way back down from perth,,, forget the name of the town but it has the old machinery museum across the road as well..

yeah work and live in eucla.,...

I can't remember the town either Paul but I knew from the dirt and roads that it was a WA photo and the Ettamogah fitted with that roof line. I've never stopped there myself we usually only stop in Merradin when travelling between Perth and Norseman.

Do you work at the Eucla road house or is there other jobs still going around the place?

i work in the quarantine on the border,.

Oh well atleast you weren't one of the people I abused at Eucla last trip, they used to be nice at that place but on our last trip they were arrogant and annoying and I might have let them know that.

We've always been treated pretty good at that quarantine point, although last year the short women had a bit of trouble getting up to see in the fridge, thought I was going to have to lift her up at one stage, but she was good about it all.

would not have been scottish by chance she is short lol but all the woman here are short.....

hey can anyone tell me why my account keeps on going back to the log in page,,, it is driving me bonkers,,,,

thanks to the other guys for the remarks about my 2 vehicles... yeah the patrol is the toy and the navara is the comfort traveller

Yeah she was scottish. Like most jobs I guess at times that has got to be a **** of a job but she was good with us despite how ****** it could have been, same with the ones back at Ceduna. It's the ones on the Vic SA border that are the mongrels.

Oh well you'll see me coming through there in about October next year, not sure exactly when yet but we've got a wedding in Perth around that time of year.

yeah cool let me know and if i am not working meet up an have a beer i am always up for meeting fellow forum members and sitting round having a chat and checking out the work on there utes and wagons....

Set up a BBQ and a few beers under that big roof you've got out there I'm sure no one will mind.

I know how much easier it is getting out of the car to have it checked with that nice high roof at Eucla as opposed to the one with no roof at Ceduna but for you guys it must be a godsend not having to constantly go out in the sun.

mate that roof is useless in the rain,,,cause of how much wind we cop down here we get absolutlely soaked,,, yeah bbq is set up already,,, gotta have dinner somehow on the night shifts but yeah they dont like if we have a beer in our hand while inspecting vehicles

Never stopped their in the rain, got hammered by the rain coming into Norseman in 08 but never had rain across the middle, all I know is that shade is brilliant when the sun is blaring down, where as at Ceduna I have actually stayed in the car with the a/c on and just let them open as many doors and things as they please to save me getting out.

Do you get accommodation at Border Village or something or does the boss make you swag it out the back?
