Hi All,
I'm only new here and have been reading and reading trying to find all the info i can before i make my purchase. I'm looking at getting a brand new D22. i should have my mind made up by the end of the month, the main thing im undecided about is if i should by a new D22 or a couple year old D40. but any way just thought i would say hi
Hi again

Josh

Welcome to the forums Josh.

if it was me buying and they were the only two options I'd choose the newest car I could afford, even if it was a D22. That's not to say D22's are bad they just aren't my choice unless the D40 was unaffordable.

Welcome to the forums!

There are a lot of good things to say about the D40, particularly the ride comfort on a long journey. It's really quite remarkable how comfy my car is.

Whether that's $10K worth of comfy is up to you. The D22's power comes on smoother than the D40, which really kicks tail when the turbo finally comes in - there's a significant amount of lag before the boost finally arrives. Not sure what the D22 can pull, the D40 can haul 3 tonnes behind it, which is what really sold me.

Howdy and welcome mate.

i had the exact option as u josh before i bought my d40. i mainly liked the d40 cause of the size (family) and get up n go. comes down to preference. go for a test drive and see which one clicks for you. if u cant decide just buy both ;-)

Gday!

Welcome to this fine establishment of devoted Navara owners.

I back the choice of a new D22.

Hi Josh, welcome to the forum. I'd agree with nismo, test drive them both and then decide which one you like.

welcome mate, either way you go you will get either the #1 or #2 truck on the market. which order they are is up to the owner. still though i'd go the D22.

Hey mate the D22 will tow 3T aswell, the D40 would do it easier but the D22 is no slug when you open them up and the restrictions removed.

D22 all the way.

Dave.

G'day Josh. Test driving both is the way mate. And depends what you want to do with your ute when you pick it. Plenty of info in people's garages abut all the upgrades you could buy for both so check those out too. Good luck with the choice

Thanks for all the input guys. im still undecided ill take on board what was said and take both for a drive. I have driven a D22 and have been in a D40 but ill have to wait till i drive both to see what i choose. I'm leaning towards the D22 on cost alone. But the comments on size do play a part as well, having a small family of my own. No doubt i will end up with one or the other soon.
Thanks for your friendly welcome

welcome josh p. i dont have my navara yet (2 weeks) but ive learnt heaps and have a fairly good idea what mods to get when it arrives.

Well after months of looking and not looking, im finally buying a new ute. ill be heading off to Nissan tomorrow to order my new D22 ST-R. It will be stock as a rock for now.

Well I thought I had. But after going to Nissan today and finding out that they sold the colour I wanted this week now I'm not sure. I had my eyes on the dark blue. But they can't find another is Aus. The earliest I could get one is the end of January. My next choice would hav been black but I won't get one of them Till mid January. So now I've gone from ordering a car and getting it next weeks to being forced to wait atleast 6 weeks

Bit of an update. Got my car at the start of jan. It's pretty much stock as a rock. got some lightforce 170's up the front. UHF. I had some tools pinched from the back so I bought a factory soft tonneau. Going to lift it soon, will most likely end up with the calmini kit. I bent the stock chrome rear bar. So I replaced it with an ARB rear tow step.
