Hi All,

I just wanted to say "Hi" and Thanks to all who share their knowledge on this forum. I am so stoked to have found it. I have spent about an hour and a half cruizin the threads on tyres and when I had used up all my Guest priviledges I had no hesitation in joining you.

I am new to the 4x4 scene. I have recently purchased an 07 D22 STR Cab Chassis. It has spent the first part of its life as a farm ute in north central Vic, and now she's mine. She needed a good detail, but has come up trumps. Got a snorkel fitted when I got the RWC and am looking forward to getting in to the "better" fishing spots.

I do 80% road driving and would like a set of AT Tyres that have really good wet weather grip on the black top. I know there is an area for this topic, but most are primarily focussed on the off road capabilities. If anyone has a quick opinion it would be really appreciated.

I have a good mate who recently got a Navara as well, so I am off to send him a link to this forum right now.
Cheers.

Hi mate, welcome to the forum.

I have the 4 rib Mickey Thompson ATZ's, they are great in the wet on the bitumen, and are great off road as well. Plus an 80,000 k warranty is handy.

Thanks a Million Jason. I was gettin the impression from the forum that these were the way to go, just needed to confirm the bitumen side. Many Thanks.

Welcome mate.

I run Cooper ST's on the road and ocassionally run my Mickey Thompson MTZ's on the road and there both great tyres.

Dave.

BFG A/T's here, a great all round tyre very quiet on the road and preform great off road also. Simular to the Mickey T's with a 80,000km warranty if rotated every 10k. Cheers Matt.

I also have the BFT a/t's - they are good on the road, feel pretty safe even on the wet melbourne roads.

I also have not had any problems with them off road yet either.

I got a full set of 5 tyres, and am rotating them every 10,000 km - so i'm hopeful of getting close to 100,000 km with them.
(already got over 20,000km in only 9 months)
